Karen’s work life and personal life experiences make her optimally suited to work in the area of healthy and delicious food, mindfulness and meditation, but especially in coaching and helping others whether it be in other people’s homes (or her own), schools, or corporations.
Karen’s background consists of 10 years in the banking industry (after obtaining a Commerce and Economics degree from U of T and her PFP (Personal Financial Planning designation), 13 years in the mortgage brokerage industry, and countless years in nutrition and self study. Karen has obtained her Return to Food Coaching certification, her Mindfulness/Meditation coaching certification, and her Registered Holistic Nutritionist designation.
With Karen’s background in the corporate world, she has a professional manner and is well suited to presenting, providing cooking demonstrations, and coaching in different size corporations. She also loves being able to impact lives and empower students by presenting and offering cooking classes or food demos in high schools. Finally, Karen lights up spending time with women talking, educating, enjoying the collaboration of ideas, friendship, laughter, cooking and eating together in a home setting. Karen also coaches one on one to help clients get to a point where they feel excited and inspired to bring further health into their lives and feel great.
Karen has been through weight gain and weight loss, irritable bowel syndrome, as well as depression and anxiety. Because of all this, she is understanding, authentic, warm, and easy to relate to.
